We’re thrilled to announce Insights, a powerful new feature designed to elevate your FinOps and TBM practices with proactive rule-based intelligence. With Insights, you can now automatically detect anomalies, explain cost trends, and uncover optimization opportunities across both cloud and non-cloud spend.
What’s Insights?
Insights is your rule-based intelligent monitoring feature that automatically scans data for unusual patterns or deviations. Whether it’s a sudden spike in cloud spend, unexpected usage trends, or deviations from budget, Insights alerts you in real-time so you can act quickly and effectively.
The Insights rule engine provides a critical new layer to our platform, offering:
Proactive alerts for early intervention in cost variances.
High-level summaries for efficient FinOps reviews and executive reporting.
Contextual spend drivers that empower engineering and business teams to take ownership of their costs.
Key Highlights:
Anomaly Detection – Identify unexpected spikes, drops, or unusual patterns in spend, budgets, and variance.
Smart Detection Methods: Insights supports multiple detection methods with each method works defferently and suitable for specific type of cost or usage data.
Z-Score - Statistical anomaly detection
Threshold - Simple value comparison
Moving Average - Trend detection
Prophet - Seasonal forecasting
CUSUM - Change point detection
Rule-Based Triggers – Each insight is powered by a configurable rule. Create rules by selecting a data source, detection methods, and metric, then defining dimensions, thresholds, notification preferences (Teams, Slack, email), frequency, cooldown days, and priority.
Visual Insights – Once a rule executes, review detailed anomaly information directly on the chart for faster analysis.
Actionable Workflow – Each detected insight goes through a clear workflow to help teams manage issues effectively. Detected anomalies can be acknowledged and resolved directly from the Insights screen. This ensures that every anomaly or threshold breach is not only detected but also tracked through to resolution.
Why Insights Matters
As customers scale their cloud and SaaS usage across hundreds of vendors and teams, the ability to detect, explain, and act on key patterns in spend, usage, and budgeting is critical for effective FinOps and TBM adoption.
Currently, manual analysis of these metrics is time-consuming and often misses critical opportunities, potentially leading to significant avoidable spend or unidentified inefficiencies.
Raw metrics and dashboards, while foundational, are no longer sufficient to meet the advanced requirements of modern FinOps practices.
Set Any Dashboard as Your Homepage
We’ve made it easier for you to personalize your experience. Previously, only custom dashboards could be set as your homepage. Now, with this update, you can choose any standard dashboard as your home screen.
This enhancement also extends to the Dashboard Only user role. Admins can now configure a standard dashboard (in addition to custom dashboards) as the default homepage for these users, ensuring they land directly on the most relevant insights when they log in.
With more flexibility, you can make sure your starting point in the platform always aligns with your daily priorities.
To make data uploads smoother, we’ve introduced the ability to set default values for fields during mapping. A new dropdown option, Provide Default, is now available for every field. Simply select it and enter the default value you’d like applied.
This default value will automatically populate the field during your first upload, reducing manual effort. For future uploads, you can choose to set a new default again if needed—keeping the process flexible and in your control.
With this update, mapping is faster, easier, and more consistent.
Manual Tenant Configuration
We’ve introduced a new capability that gives admins greater flexibility in managing tenants. Admins can now manually configure the Tenant ID and domain directly within the platform.
During configuration, admins also have the option to:
Enable Invite Only – restricts access so that only invited users can join.
Enable Azure AD Roles – seamlessly map role assignments from Azure AD.
Once configured, the added M365 tenant can be used for both authentication and collecting M365 license data (if enabled) ensuring a smooth integration between identity management and license tracking.
This update provides more control and security while streamlining tenant setup.
Managing users just got simpler. Admins can now upload a CSV file with user details directly from the Users page, making it easy to create multiple users in one step. This new capability helps you save time and streamline user onboarding.
