What's New in Yarken - August 2026

Technology finance teams rarely lack data. The challenge is seeing what changed, understanding why, and deciding what needs attention.

Yarken’s August 2026 updates bring more financial and operational context into everyday reporting. Custom Dashboards now combine stronger forecasting, Insights, anomaly context, and clearer navigation.

This release also adds better AI spend classification, governed automation from Insights, and support for selected FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification (FOCUS) 1.2 fields.

Custom Dashboards built for better decisions

A number rarely tells the full story.

Financial and technology leaders also need trend, forecast, anomaly, and business context around that number. Custom Dashboards now bring more of this information into one reporting view.

Track daily spend against forecast

Daily charts can now show cumulative actuals alongside forecast values.

Teams can see how spend develops throughout the reporting period instead of relying on a month-end view.

An end-of-year forecast KPI can also project where a financial measure is heading based on historical spend.

This gives budget owners and technology leaders earlier visibility into financial movement and more time to investigate changes.

Bring Insights into the dashboard

Insights and anomaly reports can now appear directly within Custom Dashboard data tables.

Severity indicators identify Low, Medium, High, and Critical findings. Insight icons and time information add context around when an issue occurred and its level of priority.

Unusual movement can now be reviewed alongside the financial and operational metrics already used in regular reporting.

Make priority metrics stand out

KPI widgets now support configurable icons.

Dashboard designers can show or hide icons, select from Yarken’s icon library, and adjust colors based on a metric, category, or status.

Important measures become easier to identify when teams scan dashboards during financial and operational reviews.

Move between dashboards faster

Dashboard Shortcut widgets now include improved layouts, styling, and icons.

Teams can create clearer paths between related dashboards and move quickly from one reporting context to another.

For recurring reviews, navigation becomes part of how the reporting experience is structured.

Work from a cleaner reporting view

Custom Dashboards now use more consistent card styling, spacing, text, and widget presentation.

Global filters sit at the top of the dashboard, making reporting context easier to see and adjust.

A widget counter also helps dashboard designers manage how much information appears within each view.

Result: cleaner reporting with less visual noise.

Make AI spend easier to identify

AI costs can sit across cloud services, models, software, infrastructure, and other assets.

Without consistent classification, understanding total AI investment becomes difficult.

Yarken’s new AI Service field gives teams a consistent way to classify AI-related spend across asset types.

Cloud Consumption can also map directly to AI Services through Upload Rules.

The same information is available in Asset TCO reporting, connecting AI services with the assets and costs behind them.

This gives technology finance teams a stronger foundation for AI spend reporting, ownership, analysis, and governance.

Turn an Insight into governed action

Finding unusual spend is one part of the job. Someone still needs to investigate it, determine its impact, and coordinate a response.

With AI Studio Automations (Beta), an Insight can now trigger a workflow using the context already attached to that finding.

The workflow can:

  • Analyze the Insight
  • Update its status or severity
  • Add comments
  • Notify teams through Email, Microsoft Teams, or Slack

Human approval can be added before changes are applied.

AI supports investigation and coordination while people retain control over decisions.

This connects anomaly detection with governed action instead of leaving findings inside a report.

Add richer cloud billing context with FOCUS 1.2

Yarken now supports selected fields introduced in the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification (FOCUS) 1.2.

Newly supported fields include:

  • InvoiceId
  • PricingCurrency
  • SubAccountType
  • PricingCurrencyContractedUnitPrice
  • PricingCurrencyEffectiveCost
  • PricingCurrencyListUnitPrice
  • BillingAccountType

These fields add more context around:

  • Invoice identification
  • Pricing currencies
  • Contracted pricing
  • Effective pricing
  • Billing account structures

Where cloud providers supply this data, teams can use it for more detailed reporting, financial analysis, and reconciliation.

FOCUS 1.0 remains supported. Moving to FOCUS 1.2 is optional.

A clearer operating view of technology spend

August strengthens the connection between reporting, financial context, and action across Yarken.

Custom Dashboards now show more of the information behind financial movement. AI spend becomes easier to classify. Cloud billing data carries more context. Insights can move into governed workflows.

Together, these updates help technology finance teams spend less time assembling the story behind their numbers and more time deciding what needs attention.
