Microsoft Graph API Integration
We are excited to announce the integration of Microsoft Graph API into YäRKEN application, allowing you to seamlessly sync Microsoft 365 license and product usage details. This new API integration enables you to automate license data retrieval and use comprehensive license information for reporting and analytics.
The Microsoft Graph API integration is designed to run through the application’s Pipeline feature, making setup and automation easy and flexible.
How it works:
-
Users can create a new pipeline connection to sync License Details and Product Usage Details.
-
Setup requires standard Microsoft credentials:
Tenant ID, Client ID, and Client Secret. -
Pipelines can be scheduled to run automatically at defined intervals, ensuring your data stays current without manual effort.
Once synced, the license data is processed and made available in the License Usage analytics cube, allowing teams to leverage it for in-depth reporting, strategic decision-making and license optimzation.
This integration simplifies license tracking, reduces manual effort, and improves visibility into Microsoft 365 usage across the organization.
Cloud Consumption: Tagging Compliance
To support tagging compliance tracking in the cloud consumption data, a new field called Tagging Compliance is introduced. This field is now available to map during cloud data upload. Using this new field, users can define upload rules to automate tagging compliance by customizing the tagging rules or rely on the default application tag.
Additionally, we have enabled reporting to track tagging compliance through new fields in Analytics.
-
Tagging Compliance: Tagging compliance of selected resource.
-
Tagging Compliance Billed Cost: Total billed cost of tagged resources.
-
Tagging Compliance %: Percentage of tagged billed cost versus total billed cost.
New Asset Type: Fixed Assets
A new asset type called Fixed Assets is introduced, which allows you to add and manage monthly data specific to fixed assets. This new asset type helps in splitting GL-Level spend into Fixed Assets that then contribute to the TCO of an application, product or service.
Improved Cube Refresh Management with Enhanced Granularity
We’ve introduced key updates to the Cube Refresh functionality, giving users greater visibility, control, and efficiency when managing cube operations.
Cube Granularity
The Cube Refresh page now presents cubes at their full granularity—Cube, Aggregation, and Partition—providing a clearer and more precise view of the cube structure. No more summarization; you get full transparency.
All Cubes, Always Visible
All available cubes are now explicitly listed on the Cube Refresh page. Whether active or pending, every cube is accounted for in the interface.
Manual Refresh by Partition
You can now refresh specific cube independently. This targeted refresh avoids triggering a full cube rebuild, improving performance and giving you fine-grained control over refresh operations.
Updated Cube Refresh Behavior
To better optimize system performance, the cube refresh process has been refined:
-
Immediate Auto-refresh has been disabled. Cubes are now automatically refreshed ones a day.
-
Out of date cubes are marked as ‘Pending’. They will be auto-refreshed daily or can be manually refreshed if required.
Users can:
-
Manually refresh individual cubes directly from the interface.
-
Refresh all pending cubes at once with a single action.
New Pre-Aggregation Toggle for Admins in Analytics
A new PRE-AGGREGATIONS toggle button is added in the Analytics section for Admin users to control pre-aggregation behavior.
-
When enabled:
This is the standard mode. Data is returned from the caching and pre-aggregated layer. -
When disabled:
Data is fetched from the underlying database. While this provides raw data access, it reflects recent changes until the cube has been refreshed. Queries may be slower.
This enhancement gives Admins more flexibility and control over how and when to access aggregated data—helping balance speed and accuracy based on your needs.
Remap and Reload Spend Files
The file reload behavior for spend data is significantly improved in the application. Previously, when reloading an existing file, the system reused the same mapping fields automatically without offering an option to modify them. Now, with the new Remap and Reload capability in the UPLOADED FILES section, users can reupload the file with the option to edit or update the mapping fields before processing.
This enhancement ensures greater accuracy and adaptability when reloading spend files.
New Alert Metric: YTD Spend Variance %
An Alerting feature is now included with a new metric type—YTD Spend Variance % - designed to notify you when the spend variance exceeds defined thresholds. This metric calculates the percentage variance between your actual Year-to-Date (YTD) spend and the prior year’s YTD spend, highlighting any significant increases or decreases in spend.
Grand Total Row in Table View
When users switch a chart’s data view to table format, a Grand Total row now appears at the bottom. This row automatically sums up the values across all visible columns—making it easier to see overall totals at a glance.
Expanded Admin Access: Full Control Over Budget and Chargeback Activities
Admin users now have default full access to all budget and chargeback-related features—no additional role assignments required. Admins are allowed to:
-
Manage and view all budget configurations, approvals, and allocations.
-
Access and control all chargeback activities, including creation, and approval.
This update simplifies role management and ensures Admin users have comprehensive access to key financial operations out of the box.
